David Shaner PhD holds an Endowed Chair Emeritus at Furman University serving as Herring Professor of Asian Studies and Philosophy. Dr. Shaner is also a highly successful consultant to Fortune 500 companies. The series is focused on understanding the biological basis of productive learning behavior.
Professor Shaner is a popular public speaker and has appeared before business associations in the U.S., Japan, Europe and Russia. He has also lectured at over 25 universities around the world including Harvard, Northwestern and the University of Chicago.

Dr. Shaner is a 7th Degree Black Belt in the Japanese art of Ki-Aikido. He is the Chief Instructor of the Eastern (USA) Ki Federation and Japan Headquarters Advisor to the Eastern Europe/Russia Ki-Aikido Federation where he teaches each year.
Shaner graduated with a B.A. from Albertson College and received a Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Hawaii.
